Challenge

Steeply falling ground and deep engineered fill left the new lots unusable without long boundary walls. Piers had to be socketed into high strength sandstone, over existing sewer and stormwater and beneath future driveways.

Solution

Konceptual designed concrete sleeper walls to AS 4678, usinggalvanised steel posts in bored piers socketed into sandstone, with subsoildrainage and bridging details where the walls cross services.

Key Highlights

Over 800 m of wall across the project, up to 4.0 m high.

Bored piers up to 6.0 m deep, socketed into sandstone.

Designed for 5 kPa surcharge, 10 kPa under future driveways.

Bridging and floating post details spanning existing sewer and stormwater.
