Location

Challenge

Severe slope failure and washout disrupted access to Megalong Valley Road. The site presented steep terrain, active earth pressures, and limited access — requiring a rapid and resilient engineering solution without heavy in-situ construction.

Solution

We delivered a geotechnical and structural system integrating soil anchors, micropiles, EPS geofoam block fill, and a fire-rated shotcrete wall supported by galvanized steel columns. Modular construction and prefabrication enabled fast-track delivery despite remote conditions

Key Highlights

  • Road connectivity restored with 60% faster construction
  • Micropiles and soil anchors reinforced the slope under high earth pressures
  • EPS geofoam backfill minimized ground load and settlement
  • Minimal in-situ works enabled rapid deployment in remote terrain
